My artist residency at Eccho at Baha Mar began shortly after my solo exhibition Tingsy at CAB Gallery, where I looked at Bahamian interiors and everyday household iconography. With a shorter residency period, I continued these ideas through a series of smaller-scale works, revisiting themes from Tingsy in a more immediate and focused way. The residency allowed me to spend time with the gallery’s team and see behind the scenes, while the surrounding artworks, Bahamian-made items in the shops, and the presence of Junkanoo headpieces throughout the space became ongoing sources of inspiration.
